DR. JOYCE M. FATATO

Dr.
Joyce M. Fatato

Dr. Fatato has been practicing chiropractic for over 20 years and is a life-long resident of southern Jersey.  She is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College and utilizes several types of chiropractic techniques including traditional diversified manipulation, Cox Decompression Technique and Webster Technique.

Dr. Fatato has been a certified Cox Decompression Technique practitioner since 2005.  Cox Technique is a low-force chiropractic treatment that administers flexion distraction and spinal decompression.  Research has found that Cox Technique is effective at decreasing intradiscal pressure and widening the spinal canal foraminal area resulting in reducing pressure on spinal nerves and returning motion to the spinal joints.  Cox Technique is a appropriate for neck and arm pain as well as low back and leg pain associated with conditions such as disc herniations, spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis.

Dr. Fatato uses Webster Technique on her patients who are experiencing pelvic imbalances during pregnancy.  The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment.  The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation and SI joint dysfunction.  Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (i.e. dystocia), caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation.  Correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia.

Dr. Fatato enjoys treating younger patients by helping them establish good biomechanical habits and helping older patients navigate the changes and physical challenges of aging.
